Brokers for Kids Event Helps Arizona’s Youth Achieve their Dreams

NAI Horizon is pleased to sponsor the annual Brokers for Kids event on Feb. 18, 2011 at Tempe Beach Park. This event features fun sporting completions, refreshments and music. The organizer of the event is the Scottsdale Active 20/20 Club which teams with Boys Hope Girls Hope to help fulfill their mission of providing academically capable and motivated children in need reach their full potential. Patrick Sheehan and Scott Ellsworth are NAI’s team captains and are coordinating our participation and spearheading fundraising efforts.

The event brings commercial real estate professionals together in a friendly competition of fundraising and physical challenges. The team most successful in fundraising is awarded the coveted Broker’s Cup at the end of the event. This event began in the backyard of Steve Leonard, founder of Brokers for Kids in 1999 and has grown each year. NAI was a participant in that inaugural event and has continued to support their goals throughout the years.

Donations, raffle tickets and sponsorships are all encouraged. Raffle tickets are $25 each or six for $100. The winner gets a new 2011 Toyota (or $15,000 in cash)! For more information and for ways to participate, go to www.brokersforkids.com. Please be sure to select NAI Horizon when you make your donation to help us in our quest for the Broker’s Cup.

The Social Network and Commercial Real Estate

After nearly four decades in the commercial real estate arena, I have witnessed many innovations in our industry. Nothing has surprised me more than the advent of social media marketing and its enormous potential. The amount of commercial real estate information is staggering and there are new and exciting ways to harness and diseminate it.

NAI Horizon is committing its resources, both human and financial, to stay ahead of this exciting new media explosion. Fortunately we have engaged young, savvy people to join our team and make sure NAI Horizon continues to distinguish ourselves in the community.

I invite you to keep an eye on our blog, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter for the latest trends, discussions and opportunities in the ever-changing commercial real estate market. Let us know how we’re doing so we can continually be the go-to source for CRE information in the Valley.
